Koppany Pines is a small, homegrown retreat located in Koppanyszanto in rural Hungary, positioned on the walking trails of the Koppányvölgy Natúrpark (Koppany Valley Nature Park). Our village is a taste of ‘REAL HUNGARY’ with it’s wine press houses amongst the vineyards, the local apiary, houses hung with paprika and the passing horse and carts.  It’s not a rich village, but it’s proud of it’s heritage and traditions and still clings to a bygone age.  This is our home and enables us to enjoy a hygge lifestyle, a practice that is known to lower stress and boosting wellness. Pronounced “hoo-gah,” hygge is a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that creates a feeling of contentment or well-being. From the food and drink we grow and consume to wildcrafting and spending time with people we care about, we strive to be in the moment and remain mindful about the ‘little’ details.

This concept not always easy in the daily rush and so we offer our guests an opportunity to enjoy the slow pace of nature, create hygge moments and memories with our nature & bushcraft workshops, swim in our pond (14+), walk the local trails, picnic by a private lake, enjoy starry nights, beautiful sunsets, thermal baths and campfire flames. Hygge is about taking those moments to be together with people you care about – or even by yourself – to relax and enjoy life’s quieter pleasures. Surround yourself with nature’s offerings of warmth, light, water and fresh air and find new friendships & laughter or the peace and restoration you need.

Our campsite is small and cosy.  Divided into three fields to create a sense of space, each field offers it’s own firepit & water tap, in addition to the communal areas.  Wild-tents and a vintage caravan are available to hire. Facilities include EHU, toilets, showers, inside and out, camper’s kitchen with fridge, washing machine (extra charge), communal area with mini bar with coffee machine for that home from home feel.  The rear forest path takes you to our swim pond, a great place to relax or explore further into the woodland behind.
‘New for 2025 season we launch our Rewild Escapes, a program of activities and workshops, where we guide you on ways to use nature to fuel your mind and body creating a restorative effect to leave you feeling energised and inspired.  Numbers are limited to ensure everyone is brought into the circle and initially we only plan to run four escapes a year tied in with the seasons, plus a family sleepover which has been run successfully for the last two years and a woodland bushcraft retreat.  The demographic for each escape will vary so watch our events page!

Whilst we love it if you camp, we understand many enjoy the outdoors but prefer to retire to four walls, so in addition to our campsite, bell-tents and caravan, we have our Lodge which provides guestroom facilities in our traditional hungarian village home.  Our escapes are offered fully catered or with a bed & breakfast & dinner option.
The Rewild TeaHaz & Infusion Bar is our village guest table service open door Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
What is this service?   Legal definition: “Village guest table: presentation of activities related to home-made food and gastronomic traditions in a village, farm or rural environment, and the offering of prepared food for local consumption at the place of the farm;” on the conditions for food production, production and sale by small producers.

Rewild TeaHaz also runs a number of workshops and activities such as woodburning pizza making, kettle cooking, honey tasting, afternoon teas (with a botantical twist, foraging and rewilding the larder workshops.

We may also be booked for exclusive hire for personal events. You are also welcome to buy some of our homemade products to take home.

Very very good place to hang out and chill out and settle your mind for a couple of days!  This place is a really nice and easygoing place to hang out for a few days and chill. The hosts Mark and Debbie really take care of you and give you a high quality time to enjoy the stay. The breakfast is very good and you can choose from a list of items. The rooms and other facilities are very clean and also give a nice easygoing feeling as well. There is a possibility to dine at the terrace and drink something at the bar as well.
