KOPPANY PINES

Bed & Breakfast  & CAMPERSTOP

Where Hungarian hospitality meets the art of slowing down

Tucked into the Koppány Valley in the heart of Tolna County, Koppány Pines is a family-run panziók (bed & breakfast) in the true Hungarian tradition — a place of homegrown food, open doors, and genuine welcome. Local cheeses, paprika eggs, garden herbs, and fresh-baked rolls. A table worth lingering at.

Outside, a natural plunge pool, a kitchen garden in full season, fruit trees, herbal beds and edible flowers, and paths that lead directly into the surrounding countryside. Hungary’s celebrated thermal baths lie close by — warm water, mineral-rich, deeply restorative.

The darkness here is part of the experience — unpolluted, unhurried, and full of stars.

Come Thursday, The Nook & Fire Kitchen lights up for shared table evenings of seasonal food and fire. On the last Friday and first Sunday, the gates open wider — music plays, neighbours join in, and the evening stretches long.

A sanctuary for adults. A rhythm worth returning to.

Rooted in the Koppány Valley

Set in the landscapes of southern Transdanubia, Koppány Pines sits on the edge of the Koppány Valley trails, surrounded by forest, vineyards, water, and wildlife.

This is a place shaped by seasons rather than schedules — where days unfold slowly and rest comes naturally. Whether you’re walking the trails, sitting quietly, or doing very little at all, the pace here gently invites you to slow down.

Being based in a rural village matters.

Away from constant noise, traffic, and digital pull, life feels quieter and more spacious. Mornings begin with birdsong, not alarms. Evenings end with firelight, not screens.

In this simpler setting — where food is local, neighbours know each other, and nature is part of everyday life — your mind has room to settle. You’re not just stepping away from busyness; you’re stepping into a way of living that supports clarity, balance, and rest.

LOCAL LAKE

Why not take order a picnic to take to the local lake?  A flat, 20 minute walk from the campsite brings you to this idyllic private fishing lake, where the owner allow us access for our guests.

WALKING

Very very good place to hang out and chill out and settle your mind for a couple of days!  This place is a really nice and easygoing place to hang out for a few days and chill. The hosts Mark and Debbie really take care of you and give you a high quality time to enjoy the stay. The breakfast is very good and you can choose from a list of items. The rooms and other facilities are very clean and also give a nice easygoing feeling as well. There is a possibility to dine at the terrace and drink something at the bar as well.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my minivan. What a treasure!! A perfect place to unwind. At this cosy and natural site you are welcomed by a lovely english couple who will even throw you a pizza-nite or teach you how to throw an axe. The natural pond is lovely, aswell as the flowering meadow. Definitely recommended to campers/travellers who enjoy a quiet place that brings you back to basic.
